www.scanph.org/webinar Join us for our special May, 2014 Webinar, "Voter Attitudes Toward Taxes and Reform of Proposition 13."
In this presentation we examine the responses of California voters who were surveyed on their attitudes toward taxes and reform of Proposition 13. Faculty and researchers who conducted the survey will present their results on the adequacy of state funding levels for a host of public goods and services including, but not limited to, housing for the elderly, military veterans, and low income working families. They will then present the results of this survey on the voter threshold, the fairness of Proposition 13, and potential initiatives that would modify existing methods of assessing commercial property. Throughout their analysis, they will incorporate the influence of demographic variables (e.g., age, home ownership, political party) on attitudes toward taxes and tax reform. This study was conducted for Housing California by Sociology faculty and student researchers at California State University, East Bay. Authors of "Voter Attitudes Toward Taxes and Reform of Proposition 13" are Myrel Fulgencio, Ha Hoang, Ann Marie Ramos, Jerry Wallace, Olga Von Gauzner. Under the supervision of Carl Stempel, PhD, Patricia K. Jennings, PhD, and Susan Ingram, MA.
