Affordable Housing 101: For Elected Officials & Staffers

This in-depth, half-day session will walk attendees through the complete life cycle of affordable housing development. Learn from seasoned experts and nonprofit developers about:

  • A look into the current housing crisis and the nonprofit model's unique role

  • Information on site selection, entitlements, and how your leadership can make a difference

  • A breakdown on housing financing structures, including a primer on Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC)

  • How construction management and long-term operation goals are managed

  • A review from LACAHSA (Los Angeles County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency) representatives on the services they provide and how they operate as partners in the affordable housing space

Each topic includes time for Q&A, ensuring the content is actionable and relevant to your role in policymaking and community advocacy.
